What can I expect?
A very fun, light, rewarding headshot experience! I’m a communication connoisseur and have a sleeve full of movie quotes, musical genres and song lyrics, old celebrity crushes, and embarrassing/humbling tidbits about myself to share. Feel free to bring your own beverages, but I do have water and often some type of juice. If it’s cold, I’ll make you a cup of one of a dozen teas that I keep in the house. (Sometimes there’s candy, too, but I make no promises.)
Natural Light or Studio Lighting?
Though technically I can shoot either way, setup and maintenance of lighting is far more significant with studio lighting. I always prefer natural light for headshots.
Wardrobe: What should I bring?
If you do not have a wardrobe consultant I advise that you bring at least two tops for each look, keeping them relevant to your character style. If you need full body or shots that include your body below your waist, pack accordingly. Comfortable shoes are best; little or no jewelry.
Truthfully, the best advise I can give is to get real with yourself and watch television shows and movies — minding the commercials as well — that have characters you are certain you could successfully audition for and play.
Hair & Makeup?
I always advise hiring the make-up artist, who also does light hair, especially for women, bald men, or anyone with problem skin. Yes, you want your headshots to look “natural”, but putting your best foot forward is still looking like the real YOU.
Do you do reshoots?
Not necessary. Unless there is an incredible equipment malfunction or an “act of God”, as they say, reshoots are not available. It is incredibly important that you adequately prepare for our session, including reaching out and communicating if you have any concerns or questions.
Are there any discounts available?
My posted prices are already under market value for high-quality professional headshots with someone of my experience. I do provide a referral discount of 10%, and I offer a package for doubles sessions, which could be a friend or family member or even a significant other who choose to shoot on the same day. How can I pay for my session?
Payment may be remitted by check, cash, or by Venmo/Zelle. We are not currently accepting credit cards as a form of payment at this time.
Anything else I need to know before booking?
I do have two small dogs at my residence. If you are allergic to animals of any kind, let me know so we can plan an alternate shoot location in the area. If you are simply fearful of dogs, I can keep them locked in my bedroom during our session.
